Feeding
The careful feeding of the calves results in the extraordinary quality of their meat; pink or light red in colour, with adequate fat infiltration and an intense flavour.
The animals are raised on mother’s milk, pasture from the rural Galician environment in which they are reared, and concentrated fodder based on selected vegetables and cereals.
This rich and balanced diet ensures a healthy meat, of the highest quality and guaranteed.

Breastfeeding is the basis of the animals’ diet, and is extended to seven months in the case of Ternera Gallega Suprema calves.

The cattle are reared on traditional farms using the resources of the Galician countryside.

The feed is supplemented with fodder and concentrates from plants, strictly authorised and controlled to avoid the use of animal by-products or derivatives.

Care
The animals covered by the PGI Ternera Gallega are reared on small, traditional, family-run farms, with their own labour and following rearing and care methods based on making the most of the environment, which have been handed down from generation to generation.
Strict health and hygiene controls of the cattle and the farms ensure compliance with the health and animal welfare regulations in force.

Selection
Cárnicas Galbán works hand in hand with local and trustworthy livestock farmers who are members of the PGI Ternera Gallega and carefully selects the best cattle born in Galicia, of native breeds or their authorised crossbreeds, and which comply with the official identification that guarantees their origin and traceability.
The selection and control mechanisms we apply ensure a final product of exceptional quality: meat of extraordinary flavour and tenderness, recognised both nationally and internationally.
